Progress

Today, we saw the doctor and were given the good news that Owen's numbers are great! The white blood cell count has come up from 0.02 to 3.5 where 5 is about normal. The platelet count was 3 and is now 43 where 150 is about normal. They are slightly concerned about the platelets, but not much. We have been given the OK to return home, but Owen still has an IV and needs the catheter removed on Wednesday before he goes home.

  1. Hey Coach T!
I just wanted to let you know my family's thoughts and prayers are with you. And I regret to inform you that my putting game hasn't improved all that much...but it's great to hear you're still active and golfing. News has it they're reconstructing Green River. Hang in there...it's just like a low punch shot through the trees!

  2. Hi Mr. Torkelson,

This is Michael Stack; I'm not sure if you remember me, but I played golf at Elmo when Ed McGlasson was there. I was hoping to send you an e-mail, but can't find it on this site.

Anyways, I just heard today about what you are going through, and I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I read all of yours posts, and I must say, I am incredibly impressed at your positive attitude. I think the vast majority of people would be bitter if placed in your shoes, and your optimism is moving.

Although I'm incredibly busy with law school, I will be following your posts in the future, and when you are feeling better, let's play a round of golf to catch up. Maybe you, Mr. Meyer, and myself can play scramble against Ed; even so, we probably would still lose to him. If I have just simply not looked in the right place to find your e-mail, mine is: michael.r.stack@gmail.com.

    Sincerely,

    Michael Stack
